Why I Invest
I was a first-time founder seeking capital once. It was one of the most intense, instructive, singular experiences of my life, and it taught me so much about storytelling, preparedness, and how to marshal support for a cause.
I got help from people in this community without whom my business would have floundered, and I'm ready to be the one that helps others.
I look for real problems and solutions that delight customers.
I look for a clear understanding of how you are going to convince customers to buy. Even exceptional products need marketing.
Don't tell me how customers will use your product. Tell me how it fits into their day, their life. Demonstrate that you have a unique understanding of your customer — not just how they interact with your product.
A Note on How I Work
I wear two hats — consultant to start-ups and investor in start-ups. I love both roles, there's a lot of natural overlap between them, and I believe in being transparent about how I navigate that overlap.
